Parsing 'Expiration Date' field value within 'Lot Attribute Entry'

Hi,

How can i parse the value in the 'Expiration Date' field  within 'Lot Attribute Entry' Window before user click the 'Insert' button in 'Item Lot Number Entry' Window 

I want to make sure that user enter a value in that field before a record inserted using VBA
