We recently upgraded to GP 2010. Now when we go to PURCHASING - SELECT CHECKS all vendors that start with the letter Z do not pull into the batch. We have to go back to "edit the batch" to manually pull them in. This happens regardless of any date or vendor ranges in the "select check" process. This has been a recurring problem over the last 3 weeks and we cannot figure it out.

Good news for you. I understand that Microsoft released SP1 yesterday.
Interesting thing is even if you try to check on the checkbox next to vendor in Edit Check Batch window, vendor is still not included in the batch. You have to check on each invoice for the vendor manually.

Apparently this is a known issue to be resolved in SP1 for GP2010. Vendors whose name starts with Z don't get selected automatically. Try putting an 'A' or a '.' as the first character of the vendor name and see does the vendor auto select.
