Is there a way to disable the unit price field in the sales transaction entry window. Users inadvertently change the price when entering an invoice. Thanks.

    Winston,

You can keep users from overriding prices in SOP by un checking the "Override Prices" option in the SOP Setup window.  Go to Tools>Setup>Sales>Sales Order Processing.  Click on the Options Button at the bottom.  In the next window, look for the "Override Prices" option in the scrolling window at the bottom and un check it.  Click okay and test it out.  Your users should no longer be able to change the Unit Price.

    Regards,

    Aaron

This option also blocks line discounts.

How do I block the unit price but at the same time allow me to enter discounts per line?

You could try Field Level Security to restrict access to the field or modifying the window to disable the field.

I had already tested for field-level security, but it was not possible, I did not find the field that would inactivate the unit price.

I am not clear, the modification of the window. I guess I need to have some development plugin for it ...

The modification I am thinking of is via Modifier, which you will have a licence for as part of the Starter Pack (assuming you're on 2013 or later.

Look for '(L) Unit Price', it's the displayed field on the window.  'Unit Price' in not displayed, hidden but still there to hold a value.  Relates to the Multi Currency re-write eons ago.

Sorry, didn't test it but it should work as there is no field behind it that would accidentally display.  If I was to go the modifier route I'd probably create a new field and put it over the top with something like 'n/a' as that might help on all this.  Using FLS though, you can have it 'on' for selected users as needed.

    Hope this works
