Selecting order line price level in order entry

Posted on by 1,005

Is there a way to do the following without customization? The order entry clerk, when selecting the price level at order line entry would like to (in one step) see the different prices associated with each Price Level for the part selected, determine the appropriate Price Level code for the situation, click on it, and have it populate the field. The only options with which I'm familiar are:

  • do the price level lookup which displays the codes and allows you to click on it to select it but doesn't show the actual pricing (just the available codes), or
  • zoom on the price level which shows all the codes and the associated pricing, but doesn't allow you to click on a record to select it.

Basically we are forced to do two steps--first do the zoom to see the prices and take note of the code, and second go enter the code either by typing it in or doing the lookup. The Price Level lookup is not an advanced lookup, so we cant add any columns. We'd like to be able to do it in one step. Any ideas that don't involve customization? Thanks in advance.

Best you can do is (with the desired item highlighted in Order Entry) click on the highlighted Unit Price label and display the price breaks.  Yes, you will need to type in the selected price as there is no click and select function.
