Best way to debug plugin - on premise

Hi Experts,

want to debug a plugin in onpremise but there is no visual studio installed in the Frontend server so I can not debug it directly. Anyone has an idea on remote debugging.

Please help me with debugging line by line with remote debugging.

You have two options:

Logging and Tracing: docs.microsoft.com/.../logging-tracing

Plugin Profiler: docs.microsoft.com/.../tutorial-debug-plug-in

Hi, is this a test or production environment? you can just connect to the server through RDP and turning on Plugin Profiler in order to get a profiler file. the you can download that file to your development environment(server,your laptop) where VS is installed and test it.

Hi Roberto.

You won't be able to debug it without Visual Studio. You can enable the logging and trace to find more details of what is happing in the plugin.
