Smartlist Designer: Archive employee summary

Hello All, thanks for looking.

I am trying to build a smartlist that will bring up the employee summary of archived employees. Is this possible?

I'd like to mention, im specifically looking for the pay history of archived employees.

The two gp windows i link that i would assume would bring it up is "Archive Payroll Master" through HR and "payroll Employee Summary" from payroll. But this does not bring it up, all archived employees are missing from this table (900 i believe). Where is this data?

Thank you.

    Hi,

The problem isn't with your SmartList, it's with your data. If the employee summary file has been cleared, I do not think you can bring it back by unarchiving. I unarchived my test employee and received an error message when I tried to reconcile. If your archived employees do not exist in the UPR00900 table, then the summary does not exist in other places like the UPR30300 and UPR30301. You should still have your Year End Wage records in the UPR10101.

If you think you can retrieve the summary by unarchiving and reconciling, please do it and let me know how you did it. If you can, you can delete the inactive records again, just don't delete the history.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Archiving an employee shouldn't delete it from the UPR00900. I just Archived one and it's in both tables. Did someone delete 'inactive' records and also delete history for inactive records? That will for sure delete the records from the UPR00900. I've not tried it, but can you in fact unarchive and then reconcile to repopulate the UPR00900 table?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Here is a picture of what i have. Key is employee id.

In SQL, i have data in both tables, but the data inside do not match.

    Hi,

I just built a SmartList using those two tables, and it worked just fine. What kind of join are you using and what keys did you create on the link? Make sure the Archived Employee table has data in it.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

thanks for your response. a archived employee in UPRA0100 does not show in URP00900. I would imagine this is because they have been archived?

All active employees are indeed in urp00900.

If i were to unarchive(HR) a employee and then reconcile in payroll, they will pop back up in URP00900, but we are trying to smarlist this process instead. I just cannot figure out where this data is archived to.

Those two tables should do it. Using SQL Studio Manager, open table UPRA0100 and record the employee ID of one of your archived employees. Then open table URP00900 and see if that employee ID exists in that table. If it does, you may not have your table join set up correctly in SmartList.

Does the employee ID show up in both tables? I'll give it a try with my sample data.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
