What is the comparison between the Word Template Vs Mail Merge template?
Which is better over the other? For what purpose the Word Template needs to be created and for what purpose it is better to create the Mail Merge template?

Short: All customizations made in the CRM system can be exported as ZIP file. Customizations (Changes) in the system could be the adjustment of form fields or the creation of new fields, but also mail merge templates. That ZIP file can now be taken from a development system and imported to any other CRM system, e.g. the test or production system.
Mail Merge is good for campaigns and workflows and can be part of a CRM Solution Package file.
The document template cannot be placed as part of a CRM solution. Only workaround for workflow is this:
usually they are good for using in views.
