Financial Reporting multiple legal entity summary by dimensions

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 7

Hi,

We have more than 10 legal entities that using same chart of account, financial dimension set (and same FD values) and same reporting currency.

I need to create a FR report where i need to show data summarized across the legal entities by Main account [sum of all legal entities reporting currency], then by Business unit, Department, cost center etc.

I created a reporting row definition contains all P&L accounts, tree definition with all required legal entities and column definition with reporting unit as summary.

It works fine, however we need to drill down to mainaccount-BU-Dpt-CC. It not doing so. It shows  mainaccount-BU-Dpt-CC under individual legal entity level only.

How to achieve this in summary level.

We have same chart of accounts and financial dimension values across the companies.

Regards

    Hi Shijith,

The financial level is the first level that you see when you open a financial report. If you want to drill down to the data, you need to go to the account level to see it, you can check the link below for details:

    Dear Hana,

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried the drill down option and exporting to excel as well, it has all the data but places to separate sheet by legal entities.

We need the following report in single sheet.

Main account, BU,  Dpt ,   CC, amount

Amount should be total of the posting in the main account across all the legal entities mentioned in reporting tree. We don't need to bifurcate the amount by legal entities. All legal entities use same COA and FDs.

I thought it is simple however proves to be a challenge.

    Hi,

On the report definition, there is a field with drop down list, where you can choose in which level the report should show.

    Dear Suzan Salai,

    Thanks for the response.

I am choosing to drill down up to transaction level. That works fine; however, each legal entity data is appearing in different pages.

I like to get all data in one sheet as we have more than 10 legal entities.

Ok on column definition, do you have a column for each legal entity? You should be able to them on the front page. Can you insert a screen shot of your column definition?

That's not how Financial reporter works.  By default, each business unit in your reporting tree will export to Excel in a separate tab.  There's no way to change this.

    Thanks Frank E. Hamelly,

We are trying to eliminate a consolidation run by using MR reports.

In reporting tree we are using legal entities. Hence it creates separate tabs on export.

Is there a way to create a report across entities just using FDs.

    Hi Suzan Salai,

I have columns for each month. We need to aggregate data monthly.

And in Reporting tree we have legal entities with Financial dimension set. Screens attached.

    Hi,

I'm not quite sure how you expect the report to look like. But if you want to see all the entities on the first page of the report, you need to select the enities on the line 'Reporting unit' in the column definition. If you double click there, you should be able to select legal entities.

    Dear Suzan Salai,

You are right, summary was specified in reporting unit, to get totals. I was experimenting different reporting tree options. So removed to test something.
