Demand forecast on planning worksheet not deducting existing inventory

Hi
We do not use locations for the demand forecast
The planning worksheet for purchase and assembly orders does not deduct existing inventory e.g our demand forecast for Sept 2024 is 1000, existing inventory is 200. The planning worksheet indicates we need to order 1000

Maybe this will help clarify things.

When using demand forecasts in the planning worksheet, the system calculates supply based on net requirements, but this depends on how your forecast setup and item planning parameters are configured.

If you’re not using locations, make sure:

The forecast is entered under the blank location (not a specific one).

The item’s planning parameters (like reorder point, safety stock) don’t override available inventory.

You're running "Calculate Plan" with the correct filters and include forecast option checked.

If everything looks right and it still suggests 1000, the system might be ignoring inventory due to setup — review item planning fields like Lot Accumulation Period or Include Inventory settings.

Mark this as the verified answer if it helps. Let me know if you want help reviewing the setup.
