Getting an error when logging in to GP "Error in loading DLL", why would this start to happen?

Hi,

I have a user who I am supporting that has been a long time user of GP. Up until last week he has always been able to log in normally.

Now he gets the following error when logging on:

"An Error has occurred in the script of this page.

Line: 423

Char: 6

Error: Error in loading DLL

URL: file:///C:/Users/khodge/AppData/Local/Temp/tmpDB59.tmp

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

He is able to continue on afterwards, but what seems strange to me, is that he is a long time user of the system, he has had no upgrade recently, and he can log in to other's computers without this issue. Which clearly makes it environmental, but his IT department says that nothing has changed to his PC.

They have attempted to clear the temp folder. But the file always recreates and the error message always occurs.

I appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Keith

    Keith,

Try clearing the Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer.  The Home page uses iexplore to display content.

To try to resolve the issue, please perform/verify the following:

    1. Clear temporary internet files in Internet Explorer by going to Tools-->Internet Options-->Select Delete under Browsing History.

    2. Go to Customize this page on the GP home page, uncheck all boxes, click ok. Exit out of GP, and log back in. Do you still get the error? If you do not, add each element one at a time, until you get the error.

    3. Copy the code from another machine to a location on this machine, and test.

    4. Verify that Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components are installed in Control Panel -->Programs and Features.

    5. Verify that the AppData folder exists. Go to the temp folder, and right click tmpDB59.tmp. Verify that Read-Only is not selected on the General tab, and that the user has permission to the file in the Security tab.

    6. Log in as an Administrator for the machine, and verify if the error occurs.
