Fixed Asset depreciation to be stopped for certain period

hi

what is the process of stop depreciation of an Asset for a certain period.

we have a requirement that asset become idle / not in use because of certain reason, during that period we don't want to calculate depreciation.

    Hi Faisal,

    Disabling the parameter is not the best option to pause depreciation because you have to remember that you have to enable it again later on.

    Using the last depreciation date field that Andre mentioned is by far the better and most common option because depreciation restarts automatically again.

    i have seen option under ax help documentation, that its possible. i what to know what should be setup / option should be selected on asset, to achieve this functionality

    Hi Faisal,

    I haven't heard of such requirement before. Usually, the depreciation continues even when the asset is not in use. But this might be different per country or type of asset.

    Anyway, try to set the last depreciation date to a date in the future. Test it in a separate environment first.
