Custom Password Validation on the Dynamics CRM portal.

Hi,

I am working on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM portal.

I want to implement Custom password validation logic on the following pages.

But I couldn't find a page or form to apply custom javascript on. And even though the Microsoft portal is built on the grounds of the ADX but we don't have the source code to edit.

Please help me with this.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks Arpit, your answer did help. I used the 1st option.

But the thing is when I go to the registration page via Redeem Invitation these site settings doesn't seem to work to the fullest. What I mean is the validations do get applied but there is no error message shown.

As can be seen from the below screen shot error message is shown when we try to register on portal directly:

But the same message cannot be seen when we try to register using the redemption code.

Can you please provide a solution to this or any forum where this issue has been reported.

    Thanks!

I have the same issue. I opened a support ticket and it turns out that it is a known bug. It will be fixed in the next update rollup (currently no official release date).

However, at least I changed the content snippet "Account/Register/PageCopy" to show the password rules static in the invitation registration.

As I am seeing from screenshot, when you redeem invitation code, portal takes you to the register page with Redeeming Code message on the top. I think due to this, you are not able to replace this OOB message with your own custom message. While at the time of direct registration you are able to do the same (as per your screenshot). Might be it's a limitation.

To overcome this, you can try below:

Show the invalid password custom error message next to the password field or can give a alert message as well. so that in future your custom message will not clash with OOB messages.

One more option is to show '?' (help) next to password field and show password format information on mouse hover.

    Hope it helps.

    Cheers

    Arpit.

    Hello,

OOB you do not have control on portal login page code unless you are using Adxstudio On-premise version. You can perform only below mentioned validations for user credential :

    can refer below link :

    https://community.adxstudio.com/products/adxstudio-portals/documentation/configuration-guide/portal-authentication/asp.net-identity-authentication/

One more option you can try :

Create a new Content Snippet record in CRM with name - Account/Register/PageCopy and write your own html/jquery code to create the custom Register button and hide the original one. Now incorporate your custom validations on password field. If password validation pass, perform click (using code) on OOB button on click of your custom Register button, otherwise through the error.

    Hope it helps.

Mark it verified, if it helps to achieve your target.

    Cheers

    Arpit
