Required fields in D365 vs Marketing Form

I am trying to create a simple Contact form for use in my WordPress site. When I check for errors, it tells me that I must use the mandatory fields that are in my CRM. Yes, we require those fields when a Sales team member creates a new contact, but when someone fills out our form, requiring them to give us all of that information is a deterrent.

Is there anyway to create a form and not have the required fields match what is required in the CRM?

I have the same question (0)

You can change "Field requirement" to optional of fields that you do not want to add in new contact form.

I will add, I have selected "Contacts/Leads" for the form as while new people do contact us, sometimes existing customers use the website form for communication, as well (very rare).

So, in CRM you're saying to make those fields it's trying to have me include as optional? So there is no workaround, they're connected and always will be?

No workaround, You have to update these fields in customization.

Hi - Just as an aside to this did you successfully get the marketing form into your Wordpress site - did you need to edit the embed code produced by Marketing - we're having issues getting ours to show in a wordpress site - thanks

I have not tried yet. I got pretty frustrated that this is a lengthy process just to create a form. With my last CRM, I just copied the HTML code and bam - done. Having to create a "website" in Dynamics stumped me. I created websites but for some reason I can't link my contact form to them?

I thought the error was actually just a warning and you can actually just use the form without those fields in it.  That might be for just a subscription centre though,

Hi - Have you taken a look at blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../how-to-embed-dynamics-365-for-marketing-forms-on-you-own-website - you don't want to get caught up in creating a marketing page in marketing as that will only work on the Microsoft marketing portal - you won't be able to embed that page in an external site (or at least I don't think so).  As that URL explains, just create the marketing form and embed that, I'm just stuck on the bit where the embed code needs to be edited and that edit depends on the hosting external website, I've no idea what that edit should be for a wordpress site

I got our form to load just fine by making the form for Leads. Not what I wanted to do... but it was the work around.
