Fiscal Periods Setup

Posted on by

I opened up the 2021 fiscal period and when the system calculated the periods it put 2020.  I was able to change it to 2000 but I'm not able to update to 2021?  I get an error that "This date is not in the fiscal year"

Shauna can you provide a screen shot of the Fiscal Periods field - YEAR - I would be interested to know what you have in that field.

Also note that the suggested fix from Nicole will only be valid if you have access to SQL Server Management Studio and can execute scripts.

    Hi Shauna-

    Thank you for your post.

To make sure I understand, in the Fiscal Period Setup window, if you tab off any field i.e. First Day, Last Day, or Number of Periods, you receive this prompt?

Do you by chance already have year 2000 created?

Were you adding 2021 or were you modifying an existing year?

I’ve included below a link on re-creating fiscal periods should it be required:

How to re-create fiscal periods in Microsoft Dynamics GP

I appreciate your time and look forward to your feedback.

I can't  update the First Day or Last Day to the year 2021 or any of the Period dates to 2021.  I get this error for all the fields.

    RE: Fiscal Periods Setup

One - the first day of fiscal year for 2021 should be at least 1/1/2021 - not 1/1/2000

Two - the last of the fiscal year for 2021 should not be 1/31/2000 - and should be 12/31/2021

Correct this first and then it should put the Period 1 to 12 values in correctly.
