Deleting staging data in AX 2009

Hi Team,

We need to delete below data in AX 2009, as db size become more

1. Staging data such as - deleting old sales order, purchase order data 

2.  Old data base logging data - database logging is enabled

Please share your experience on  deleting unwanted data on above topics, also let us know if any better ways to do this..

    Hi Krishna,

    1. I don't think you can delete the old sales orders and purchase orders, since they would have transactions against them. You should be able to delete old open orders if you want to. You can also delete sales update history from Accounts receivable > Periodic > Clean up > Sales update history clean up. You can check this link for details of what data is deleted by this operation. 

    Similarly, for purchase orders you have a similar functionality available under Accounts payable > Periodic > Clean up > Purchase update history clean up. 

    2. For cleaning up database logging, you can go to Administration > Inquiries > Database log. In the form you have a button Clean up log which should help you clean up this data as per your requirement.
