Authorative Discounts

Hi Guys

Can anybody advise me on what the best way would be to set up authorative discounts, one of my clients wants to allow the sales staff to offer discounts but want the discounts to be authorised by the sales manager, has anybody come across this and if so how was this managed in CRM.

    Hi,

    In order to apply authorization to the Quote discount, a designated business logic must be developed as there is no such existing feature in MS CRM 4.0 vanilla. Also, you can purchase an exisiting solution from ISV if such solution exists.

    When developing such component you can select different courses:

    • Develop a field level security solution (which is useful in other scenarios) and extend it to support the discount approval process
    • Develop a custom approval process for the Quote discount field, using plug-in, workflow etc (probably a less expensive solution)

    Many thanks what I did in the end was configure a workflow to assign to manager if a sdiscount is applied.
