Enabling Claims-based Authentication has disabled Organization Service web endpoint for internal access

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We need CBA for an IFD set-up in CRM2016, but want to use Active Directory authentication within our domain. I have CBA up and working internally, haven't started with IFD set-up yet. So accessing through the CBA URL https://crm.contoso.com works fine, and I can also access the site through http://contosocrm with AD

However, the /Contoso/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc/web URL gives a 404 error when accessed through the AD authenticated site. It works fine when accessed through the CBA site. Bizarrely, the URL /Contoso/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc works fine for both

Anybody any idea what could cause this?

Anybody? Using CBA internally will be a huge pain point for our configuration
