Import number sequence using import export framework

We are trying to import number sequences from Excel as we have quite a large number of companies to created and want to have the company name in the number sequence code for easy identification.

We have created a custom dimension for the NumbersequenceTable and then created an excel file to import. We are struggling with the format. It seems the annotated format holds the format for the numbersequence, but we do not seem to get the correct information in the excel cell for the annotated format. As far as we can see the -1 is for constants and -2 for numbers (-0 for company code) etc and then a tab and the value and a <CRLF> for the next part.

Is there any body who has done this successfully? import number sequences from Excel.

Thanx

    Please use DIEX, out of the box entities to import it.  For more details, refer technet.microsoft.com/.../dn507088.aspx

    With DIXF approach RamK has suggested. You will have to write a generate method for mapping the values.

    Hi Herre,

    Can you explain some parts of your question?

    - What do you mean with created a new custom dimension for the NumberSequenceTable?

    About the annotated format, you can try to insert code like this:

                if (numberSequenceTable.Format != '')
                {
                    numberSequenceTable.AnnotatedFormat = NumberSeq::createAnnotatedFormatFromFormat(numberSequenceTable.Format);
                }

    I know this is a super old post but in case someone is looking for answers, I have a blog post on how to import number sequences via DIEF  (no code required)
