CRM login issue: An error has occurred. Try this action again.

We've been facing this issue in CRM wherein after we input our log in credentials it gives us an error message "Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics CRM Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support."

We've done all possible service restart but still no luck. We also noticed that when we use http we are able to log in. But if we use https that's when we encounter the issue.

Thanks njm, our issue has been fixed by removing unnecessary built-in roles from this user.

What we did was we disabled the Claims-Based Authentication and Internet-Facing Deployment in the CRM Deployment Manager. To do so click on Start Menu> look for CRM Deployment Manager> look for Claims-Based Authentication and Internet-Facing Deployment and disable those. Please be advised that the error we got here "CRM login issue: An error has occurred. Try this action again." was encountered by ALL USERS and not just one. So I'm not sure if the same resolution will be applicable to yours.

Thank you all for looking into this. We have temporarily resolved this issue by disabling the Claims-Based Authentication and Internet-Facing Deployment in the CRM Deployment Manager. Meanwhile I'll be logging a ticket with Microsoft as to why we encountered such issue.

    Hi,

If you have a CRM OnPremise instance, then you can enable Server Verbose Tracing which will allow you to see what is the true error behind the generic error "An error has occurred.. " type of error. You can easily achieve this by using one of the following:

    crmdiagtool2011.codeplex.com

    support.microsoft.com/.../907490

    Hope this helps.

Please check for logs in EventViewer or Enable tracing using this. This will help you to analyse what exactly is going on there.

    Hi njm,

Is this a new sudden issue?

    Hi Nadeeja,

Thank you for looking into this. However, our certificate won't be expired until 2021 that's why I don't this this has something to do with the SSL certificate.

    Hi njm,

Did you always had this problem or did it start happening recently?  You could be having SSL certificate issues due to expired certificates.  Please double check if the SSL certificate is valid.
