Can't re-import xml file

I exported leads from Dynamics CRM for re-import. I change some data and try to re-import the file. The import starts but no leads are imported. When i check the error Message in the import entity it says that the file is not supported. I tried saving the file as XML data, but excel tells me that there are no xml connections so i cannot sace. I can only save it as excel xml 2003 format. What am I doing wrong?

Did you change the file-format after you have downloaded it. Download should always be in excel xml 2003 format. Just download the file, make your changes, save it in the provided format. Upload it.

I saved it on my desktop, opened it in Excel and saved it as XML 2003 format.

Did you tick the reimport check box when you exported the data

Are you importing the data back into the same CRM organisation (e.g. not another).

if you are exporting the data to change it and then reimport it, you need to check the allow reimport checkbox

if you are exporting it to a new CRM organisation (e.g. DEV to TEST) then you need to save it as a CSV file.

In addition to Bens questions: Is the field "created on" part of your export? I got issues in the past when this field was part of the export. Remove this field from your view before exporting the data.

This might be the issue. Created on is part of the export. I ticked the Box and re-imported to the same organisation.
