Recently updated Demo Sandbox environment with Service update 10.0.29 Preview. Now facing issue with assigning security role.
Error : Error occurred while fetching security roles. Please let me know workaround to fix it.

You should delete the user, re-import and assign the roles.
I have tried with new user creation as well as with existing user re-import, same issue is coming.

Does this demo environment have customizations? Was only the version updated or did you also refresh the database? Have you tried a new full build and database synchronization? You can also try to run the 'Repair' job from the Security Configuration form. Security configuration - What is the 'Repair' button? - Dynamicspedia
I have the same situation but when i use the mentioned 'repair', it seems to run indefinitely.We didn't put any configurations in; almost fresh demo environment....

Do you have the issue also in the same 10.0.29 preview version? What exactly do you mean with "almost fresh demo environment"? Are there some customizations deployed?
Sorry; should have told you that i applied the quality update to Installed product version : 10.0.31 (10.0.1406.139) Installed platform version : Update55 (7.0.6651.122) yesterday.
