I have two questions for you guys!
Why mircrosoft GP is not getting new features?
why microsoft has stopped investing in microsoft gp?
Already gp consultant are not getting much jobs all around the globe.

Dynamics GP is a solid product and organizations will continue to use it but yes you will see MS focusing on there cloud based products. We have seen improvements to GP including the launch of the HTML 5 interface, Document Management and a Workflow features over the past years.

IT consultants should always keep there skills sets diversified and look at other products to support including Dynamics 365 or Business Central.
That is all true. Microsoft Business Central is their new baby. We have all seen this before with other ERP solutions. Due to GP's large installed base it will be around for quite a while but you will not see the investment in development as you had seen in the past. The world is being convinced that cloud solutions are the way of the future. That may be true for the younger crowd but we have yet to have one of our GP clients move to the cloud. They prefer having that data firmly locked within their walls. This will be a generational battle that unfortunately our generation will lose as we will all be put out to pasture never to be heard from again. For your development team they will have no choice but to adapt. The sooner they get started the better.

The thing is microsoft have stopped the investment when it comes to microsoft gp.
Example microsoft nav and microsoft gp was kind of same 10 years back . But now navision have new IDE, API integration, web client which is very stable and now the cloud option. where as microsoft gp don't get much features each year .
for the past 10 years gp is not getting enough updates, I know there is a dedicated team for microsoft gp. They are shrinking year by year.
Instead of being in denial mindset i guess we should think what to do next. There are fresh grads who are trained in dexterity. They will not have future if they get into microsoft gp. Because we all know we are not getting enough development work and job offering this days.
I'm not against gp. I m just worried just like every other gp consultant.
GP is a very mature product. Plans are already in the works for the next release at the end of 2019. I am buried in GP work but that is what 25+ years experience will do. As with most things in this world people think just because something is new automatically think it is better. So it is with on premise versus the cloud. Everyone has to evaluate this for themselves. The on premise solutions have been around for decades and are proven entities. The cloud solutions are and will be in catch up mode for quite a while. For Microsoft Business Central is their new shiny object. Unfortunately over time the cloud solutions will win out until the next new shiny object comes along. I will be long gone by that time so I will that to future generations.
