Errors when opening or creating PDF OLE Attachments in Dynamics GP notes

Dynamics GP users who updated to Adobe Reader X are getting errors when trying to open or create an OLE attachment on a note.  They get 'Failed to create object' when trying to open an existing and getting 'Failed to connect.  Link may be broken' when trying to create a new one.  It only does this for PDF attachments.  Other file types work fine.  I was able to remove Adobe Reader X and install a prior version to work around the issue.  But, I'd prefer a better solution as Adobe pushes updates to users.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a better solution?

    I think even GP v9.0 and v10.0 would also have this issue. Adobe has released major versions from GP v9.0 and we were able to open and attach any version PDF files, but once we install Adobe Reader X, this issue immediately crops up. Not sure how and when this is going to be fixed.

    I also received this issue today on GP 2010 R2.  Do you know if this is the case on v9.0 and v10.0 as well?

    Chris & Jon,

    I am also facing this issue from yesterday (exactly a day after Adobe Reader X upgrade on our Terminal Server) and as Jon suggested, it looks like Adobe Reader X is the culprit. Doesn't look like it is a bug with GP that needs a fix. Have to wait and see an update from Adobe Reader for version X, that may address this issue. Till then Adobe Reader 9.x (with all that stupid daily updates) is the way to go.

    Chris,

    Yes, I have seen this issue with Adobe Reader X when trying to attach a PDF document to a note with OLE. I received the same error "Failed to create object". Once I removed the Adobe Reader X I was able to attach PDF documents to the note with OLE.
