Activities for Members of a Segment

We are looking to see if it is possible to show activities that relate to a specific member segment.

We have created a Segment and send out an EDM. As part of our follow up, our team has logged Phonecalls, email and appointments.

So we want to see just these activities as they relate to the members of our particular segment.

I am sure it can be done, just trying to understand the correct filters and what order they need to be in.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Blake,

As part of our follow up, our team has logged Phonecalls, email and appointments.

    How to logged these activities?

Is the 'regarding' field of these activities populated? Is the value a segment member?

    Could you share related screenshots?

    Hi Leah,

So we log phone calls as an activity and emails are tracked by Dynamics. Both appear in the contacts Timeline.

So I have tried to think broadly before narrowing down, so looking for activities that relate to a Contact that is a member of a particular segment

    Hi Blake,

The SegmentMember is an internal field and it doesn't contain information you're looking for. It is not associated with whether a contact is added to a segment or not.

When you add members in the segment, members are queried through a mechanism called "Segment Query", there is no association between contacts and segment at this time.

You can get member based on one specific segment, you can loop through the segments, get all the member and then find what all segment is contact part of - not very efficient though.

You can refer this to get members of the particular segment:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../extend-segments

Create one custom field in the contact.

Then you can Loop through members collection returned from API request, update custom field of these contacts.

Finally, you can use the custom field to filter activities.
