Hi,

I am trying to add a new main account in "Ledger Posting Setup" form for Project posting but getting error "Cannot create a record in Ledger posting setup (ProjPosting). Account type: . The record already exists."

I checked but these main accounts haven't been used in the Ledger posting setup elsewhere.

Also checked other thread in the forum which points to number sequence length issue but that is also correct in my case.

Any suggestions please ?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Yash,

Do you check whether the category relation already exists?

I checked. The set of accounts which I am trying to configure does not exist in any posting type in Ledger posting setup.

    Hi,

Have you tried refreshing the form and removed any filter that exists?

Please also let us know what version of AX you operate.

    Thanks

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

Yes tried refreshing and restarting instance several times but still in vain.

The version we are using is 6.3.164.0.

This is AX 2012 R3 RTM version.

    Hi Crispin,

I had removed the "Account type" values  from the post to make it generic. Receiving value for example "Account type: Cost, 54200" there. (this is the account I am trying to add to the Cost Ledger posting setup along with several others including Revenue accounts.

Regarding Index violation and table fields, I will take help from my technical colleague to check these and get back to you.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Hi,

Did you recently modified this table and added new PK/Indexes. If yes, this might be data issue.

    Hi Deepak,

No. none of the above changes were made.

    Hi Mattguo,

I was trying to assign the main account to ALL projects and ALL category relations.

But when I checked the category relations as per your suggestion, found that all project categories have already been assigned main accounts.

    Hence the error.

I can either add main accounts to specific project types or need to change the assigned main accounts now.

    Thanks for your help.
