Dear All
Do we need to upgrade to AX 2012 R3 from AX 2009 RU8 before going to AX 7 , or Microsoft allow direct upgrade from AX2009 RU8 to AX 7 ?

Current upgarde tool on LCS accepts AX2012 model store. There were no model store in AX2009.
So, it is as you said, upgarding first to AX2012 and then to AX7. if you dont have too much customizations you can also think to re-implement.
Also take a note that AX2012-R3-CU9 can be better option as model store when it comes to upgarde to ax7 from 2012
