Multi Currency set up and testing

Good Morning,

Our company decided to explore Multi currency feature of GP 2013. We have created a test company with no data in it and I went through a set up following the manual. I have then posted some entries so I have some data to work with. I was ready to revalue currencies value, however, the 'Revaluation' button is not in my GP. This is the step on the manual:

Revalue currency values:

Open Multicurrency Revaluation window from Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Routines >> Financial >> Revaluation

Enter the Revalue Option.

Select whether you want to post transaction or view report only

I have marked the currencies that I want to be revalued to 'Revalue'. I went back to our GP consultants, but they need some time to look into this. Wouldn't this be an original set up issue? Regardless of my setup, I believe 'Revaluation' button should be there even if it was grey and I wasn't able to use it. I also have the highest authority in the test company, so that should not be a problem either.

Can anybody help me out or give me any ideas?

Thank you

    Hello Joshua,

Thank you for your reply. You were on the right track. It was an administrative issue. We had a GP consultant coming by today and she went under Administration-Setup-Registration-we had to check Multicurrency Management button. It was not check marked and, therefore, Revaluation option wasn't on there.

    Hello!

Do you mean you cannot get into the window? or is the "Revalue" button missing from the revaluation window?

If you cannot find the button to get into the revaluation window then you are looking at a security issue. You will need to make sure that a task\roll that allows access to this window is selected (Tasks ADMIN_COMPANY_008* and ADMIN_FIN_007* have it by default which is on Roles Accounting Manager* and Certified Accountant* by default). The specific operation is Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Type: Window, Series: Financial, Operation: Multicurrency Revaluation.

If the button is missing you will want to check that the window is using the default GP version of the window in the alternate modified forms and reports window. Even if you don't have a revaluation configured in this window the button should still be present.

    Joshua
