Comments or Instructions in a BOM

How can I insert brief instructions or comments (e.g. Turn cap 5 times, do not overtighten) into my BOM? Rather than just printing an assembly with all the components necessary to build a BOM, we want to add a few comments to make the items consistent across all assemblers.

David - Here is a way to accomplish your stated objective. Using this method, users can attach a note to the Bill of Materials, and you can use the query below to return the Note Text on your report.

Your suggestion looks like it only relates to the TRANSACTION. I am looking for a way to print the same Note every time a specific BOM is called out for an assembly (or every time a specific component of the BOM is called out.)

You have some user defined fields available in the expansion window accessible from the button next to the Document Number.

This will allow you to record some short pieces of information and they could be added to the report quite easily.

No responses. Let me rephrase it.... I know I can attach notes to a component and a BOM and these notes will print if I run an Indented Bill of Materials. But they do NOT print when I run an Assembly Edit List. Can anything be done to get notes/comments to print on an Assembly List?
