Sales opportunity stage is "(Blank)" on dashboard when it is actually in "Intro"

Our first opportunity stage is "Intro" but when we start a new opportunity even though the opportunity is in the Intro stage, it shows up on our dashboard as "(Blank)."  In order to fix this, we have to click on "next stage" to advance the opportunity to "Demo" stage, then click on "previous stage" to get it to show up as "Intro" in the pipeline dashboard.

Any ideas on why this is happening and how I may be able to fix it?

Thanks for any and all thoughts and advice!!

Unusual. Have the Opportunities been created from within CRM or imported? If they have been imported, without populating the Pipeline phase field, this could potentially cause a (blank) to appear on the chart.

Check the Global Option-Set "Stage Category". Ensure the Labels are ordered correctly and there isn't a blank Category at the top of the list.

Also ensure within the BPF, each Stage Category is linked to the correct stage.

Apologies if this doesn't solve your issue!

If you do not specify the Stage Category while creating the BPF then  blank entry is showing in sale pipeline funnel chart .

Also ,you can refer “Creating our business process flow” topic from below blog:

This is supposedly a normal but what I believe to be super annoying default in Dynamics CRM and Dynamics 365 from what I've observed.

The simplest way to get around this is to FORCE Opportunities to start in the Qualify stage using a Workflow Process.  This method will handle things whether your people are creating the Opportunities from Leads, simply by clicking on the add button (+) in the Account form, or otherwise.

    1. Create a Process of type "Workflow" with the following properties:

    a. Entity = Opportunity

    b. Scope = Organization

    c. Start when = Record is created

    2. Add the useful steps to the automated Workflow:

    a. Add Check Condition Step with Opportunity > Sales Stage > Does Not Contain Data.

    b. Update Opportunity with Sales Stage Field set to Qualify.

This should work!  Please let me know.

    Thanks,

Sean this is really helpful but could you give a little more information about how to set the properties in the Action: SetProcess step?
