I have 2 forms having same fields. I want to make use of 2 fields amoung them. i.e. Number(single Text field) and Producer(Lookup)

In 1st form, when i Fill the form, i fill Name(required), Number get triggered using plugin and so the field is disabled, and i select the producer from the lookup and save the form.

In form 2, The Name is a lookup of the same entity and when i select the name, both the Number and Producer should be auto populated.

How would i achieve this?

Thanks in Advance.

    Hello,

The best method is to use a real-time workflow that will be triggered on Create of the entity and OnChange of the parent entity (the lookup field).

    1. Add a condition to check if the parent lookup field is filled

    2. Add a Update Record step that will set the needed fields based on the lookup record selected

    Try with quick view form.

    Hi Charles,

I tried creating a real time workflow, but it works only for the first time and if I change the name from the lookup, the number and producer name stays the same even after refreshing.

Moreover the Number field is disabled in the 1st form so I had to create a new field or else I cannot update the condition in workflow.

Is there any other way round? Or am I missing something?

    Thanks.

    It's Working Fine.

I added it to Main form but the form is only visible when I select the lookup but I want the fields to be visible when the Form 1 loads.

Moreover is there any way I can remove the whitespace around the quick view form?

This is default behavior of quick view form as quick view form depends on lookup so you can see only when lookup value contains data.

You can add quick view form in a seperate section or  existing section .This should not take additional space if you design your form correctly. Check your quick view forms and main form design. Design quick view form in such a way so that it's not take additional space when it's display main form.

    Thank you so much!

I did exactly the same..kept them in different section so that I look much cleaner.
