How to debug a data management job?

Posted on by 6,603

Hello:

I have a Data management import job which sequentially links a number of data entities. One of the data entity is importing the records but it is not loading some of the custom fields. When this data entity is run on it's own job, it finishes without issue and loads the custom fields as anticipated. I'm looking for some advice on how to debug a data management job, specifically how it processes the records from the staging table to the destination table(s).

Thank you!

    Hi Nya,

My apologies if I wasn't clear. This issue is on F&O, not CE. Thank you.

    Hi,

Please refer to the following documentation about how to import data with a template.

    Hi Nya,

I'm sorry for the late reply.

I don't see an option for 'download template for import'. I do see a download option when I load the import job, but the CSV files have all the fields I expected, and there are no flags I can sees which mark them as required. Even in the data entity details form, I can see the mapping has all the fields I expect, and there I see which are required in the staging table. Can you please elaborate? Thank you.

    Hi,

Following are the fields that are included when you click on the "download template for import" .

    1. All the fields that are part of published forms.

    2. All the required fields of an Entity.

So if you need to load the custom fields, just add them to the entity Forms or set them as required.
