Interest Calculation

Hi there.

I am having trouble with my interest calculation pulling as anticipated. I set up a code as below, to have a 60 day grace period and then calculate 2% interest/month.

However, when I create and process interest notes, it is not valuing the grace period. For the below I would expect to only see $2:

Am I missing some configuration? Or has anyone run into this before?

Also, just to clarify the research I found, there is no OOB way to calculate different interest rates other than the posting profiles, correct? What about the scenarios where interest is determined by customer or by contract?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kelsey

    Hi Kelsey,

Not sure if I'm fully correct, but I thought this grace period is only intended to wait with an interest calculation for late payments; not to shorten the period for the calculation.

Thanks Andre. Do you know what solution is used when clients don't want to calculate interest right away? Like in my scenario above they want to wait 60 days before interest calculates.

I have attached a photo of the description allowed in D365. Which I had set to 60.

    Hi Kelsey,

The same text is used in the documentation. There might be different interpretations for the word "assessed". As mentioned, I'm not fully sure. I need to refresh my memory and set up a scenario in my own environment.
