We are having an issue while trying to deploy QU 1 - 10.0.45 - 10.0.2345.69 on a CHE  in order to include the hotfix (ID 1055015: no longer to post sales invoice after updating to 10.0.45) . The error log is of zero kb when downloaded and contains no log files. What parameters could be checked as part of troubleshooting?

The CHE has, at present Installed product version : 10.0.45 (10.0.2345.35) and Installed platform version : Update69 (7.0.7690.33).

Not any Parameters but you can open the server itself using RDP or Azure Bastion, and check the logs in the Event Viewer (around the time of the failure).

Preparation failed is a really early failure in the process, is your environment online and operational, and is the Admin user & password still the same on the VM as it is in LCS?

Also check locally on the VM to see if you have any logs from the package in C:\DynamicsAX.

    Hi SayantanSarkar,

The preparation step can fail if there was an open session on the VM. Ensure you start the update when all users are logged off from the VM.

In case you have the issue without sessions open on the VM, you can download the package on the VM and start the deployment manually with the Command Prompt. This will skip the preparation validation and you wil then in case of an error see at what step it fails with the option to review the error logs.

It has been found out that there was a IP as per the document Secure one-box development environments - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn that was not added yet in network setting in Azure. It seems it is a new addition. After it was added in rule, package deployment could be started.
