Dexterity 16 component installation for GP 2016

How do I silently install prereq Dexterity 16 Shared Components for GP 2016?

I've tried this, msiexec /i DexteritySharedComponents\Microsoft_Dexterity16_SharedComponents_x64_en-us.msi /q /norestart but it still shows as a missing prereq when attempting to install GP 2016.

Thanks.

    "Microsoft_Dexterity16_SharedComponents_x64_en-us.msi" /passive /L*v c:\temp\%USERNAME%_shared_dex_64.log

    followed with

    "Microsoft_Dexterity16_SharedComponents-KB3200323-ENU.msp" /passive /L*v c:\temp\%USERNAME%_shared_dex_64_patch.log

    Hello Béat,

I'm not sure what you mean by, 'after the reboot' but if you're suggesting that I should reboot after the silent install of Dexterity 16 shared components and then run the GP installation I have already tried that.  What may be the issue (just a guess on my part) is that there is also a Dexterity 16 Shared Components patch .msp file, KB3200323-ENU.  I'm going to attempt a silent installation of that patch along with the Dexterity 16 shared components installation.

Also, I have tried a packaged GP installation, however, it does not package the prereqs with it.

    Thanks.

You can't install the Dexterity components without restarting your computer AFAIK.. Some of the post-setup registry entries are only visible after the reboot was done, and the GP full client is looking for those in some situations.. It might be related to .NET libraries..

When deploying GP client as a prepared package, all this is done in a single step without having to answer any questions about the configuration and the modules to select.. Have you tried this option ?

Is it that no one knows how to do this?
