Rich text editor text disappears

Hi all,

A customer is facing a weird problem.

On appointment they enabled the rich text editor for the description field, but sometimes text disappears.

When I check the audit history I can see that the description field is updated correctly like 5 times but then suddenly when they save, another update occurs deleting text.
This does not occurs for every appointment, it seems to be random.

There are no workflows/plugins running on appointment and there is no javascript on the form editing the description field.

The customer is using Microsoft edge.

has anyone else ever experienced this behavior?

    Hi Sparkfish,

    Is this still an issue that you are seeing/experiencing?

    We are experiencing similar with composing emails.

    One minute, the text of the email will be present and ready to be sent, once the email is saved to draft it has a tendency to straight out disappear.

    It seems to be linked with my Rich Text Editor customisations (to set default font/size, default toolbar position).

    How did you get past it?

    My clients have experienced the issue too.  Mainly with pasted content from word or e-mail.  I played around with the editor and enabled HTML source editing and noticed that if an unrecognised tag is entered there, then it deletes content- sometimes from that point on, and sometimes the entire contents.  I am not allowed to see the content of what my client is putting in - so that makes it more difficult to reproduce..  I also noticed that <h3> tags that get pasted in are not editable (or removeable in the WYSIWYG) unless you add the Format button - which you don't see out of the box..

    The update that deletes the text is done by the same user that's working on the appointment.

    For example the description is updates 5 times by user X, user X stops working on it but a 6th update happens under the name of user X that deletes a part of the description.
