Rounding variance postings with no financial dimension set except the main account

Hi,

Our rounding variance postings are set to post to a main account, but it is not being set to also posting to the financial dimension 'Company'. Why is this and where can this be configured or change?

Our trial balance currently only has the transactions listed under the main account with no other dimension marked on it.

Hi Axer,

You need to tell us more about your account configuration and financial dimension setup as the company financial dimension can be setup at various levels e.g. Customer, item, ... Depending on what you use as financial dimension.

If the company financial dimension is always the same for the rounding posting type for your company you can also fix it to the main account in the chary of accounts. Please see stoneridgesoftware.com/how-to-use-fixed-financial-dimensions-in-ax-2012-r2

Hi,

How about if we don't intend to have a default financial dimension for the variance account and require to adopt or copy the financial dimensions from the transaction? Let's say we are doing transfer journals?

Would appreciate any idea you can share.

Did you find any reason why standard cost variance account postings have no financial dimensions. Because I am also facing the same issue now. Please let me know anything you find out.

Which AX2012 version do you operate?

If you work on an older one, have you already checked the available hotfixes on LCS?

Can you check what financial dimensions have been specified with your production order?

Hi Ludwig Reinhard

I am using AX 2012 R2 version. For voucher posted to my stock variance account, an automatic reversal is also posting without any dimensions. Please find the below screenshot, we have more vouchers like this. But not able to understand how the reversal is posted without any financial dimensions, when the dimensions are set as mandatory for this account.
