I am working with Microsoft Dynamics 2011 and have problems with activating build of materials and routes. I can approve the BOM in: Item Details>BOM>lines, but the activation button is missing. I have attached a screenshot. I really hope someone can help because I am totally lost here.

Are you using AX 2009?
Do you test it in other users?
Does the activation button miss for all BOMs?
Do you check the personalization settings?

Please navigate to the BOM, not the BOM lines form in the inventory module.
There you should be able to find the activation button.

Is this Ax 2009? Which is what the screen shot seems to show - but you mention Ax 2011 ( which never existed)
Do you have security rights for BOM approval and activation?
