Dear all,

is it possible to display the field type in the form view?

e.g. you dont see if this field is a single line text, look up or option set field:

I would like to see always the "mouse hover" frame e.g.:

Many thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi ,

I would suggest to add field type within the description:

    Gil,

thanks for you answer. But it does not help because for the user it does not matter if he makes a mouse hover over the label or field. If he makes a mouse hover over the field than he also sees the field type.

I would like to see the field type frame always without mouse hover and for every field.

    Hi Partner,

Apart from adding a description for a specific field, Unfortunately there is no other way that you can add a field type in form view through OOB method.

    Hi ,

As mentioned earlier there is no supported way to do that. Instead doing any unsupported way or wasting time  the  best way to trained user accordingly. I think the way currently Dynamics display the field type is very well understandable by any user  For example -

    Single Line Text -

    Lookup -

    pastedimage1580659927562v2.png

    Option Set -

    pastedimage1580659958019v3.png

    Date -

    pastedimage1580660021678v4.png

Yes I understand there is some confusion with Whole Number , Decimal or text field. For that you can  put the field type inside bracket with label or put description which is the better and clean way to fulfill your requirement.
