As the title says, we have quite a few opportunities and at least one quote where the modified on date won't update, no matter what we change. We keep finding more, but all my troubleshooting has come to nothing, and I'm really scratching my head here. We've got around 1500 opportunities and 900 quotes (both open and closed), and this problem seems to pop up and random (yes...the opportunities are open when the problem pops up). Here's what I've found so far (I'm sure a lot of it is irrelevant, but I'm kind of out of ideas on what to look at here):
-no scripts running that might prevent the update
-no workflows running that might prevent the update
-cloned opportunities update field fine when tested
-Sales process stage has no effect on whether or not field works
-modified date being older than create date doesn’t seem to have anything to do with it (I have no idea why some of these have a modified date older than created date. There aren't a whole lot, but there isn't a correlation)
-closed as lost or won/reopening opps via workflow doesn’t affect field’s ability to update
-new opps update without a problem
-Product line item presence/absence doesn’t affect field’s ability to update
-the only opportunities I’ve been able to find with this problem have at least one quote, but that doesn't explain the quote. I didn't have the problem with the opp the quote belonged to
-Status reason doesn’t seem to matter
-opportunities are created by different people
-Opportunities were originally created on vastly different dates (ie, 7/1/16 and 10/23/17)
We need to be able to track modified on date, so it would be really nice if it were, you know, reliable. Fixable ⌶: Even replaceable at this point.
