Supressing "TaskPad" / Blocking access to certain "Reports" on taskpad

Posted on by

Hello-

I am setting a security level scheme in SO/HQ.

I blocked access to "sales" area of "Reports", however, they can bypass that by accessing reports on the taskpad.  My question(s) are:

1)  Can you suppress the taskpad from showing up?

2)   Is there a way to prevent this access if you do not suppress it?  I cannot "right click" on the icons i do not want them to access....

3)  Can I copy and paste the security profiles to another store?

Thanks

J

You can assign specific taskpads for each employee. Take the report button off of the taskpad that you wish to assign to the cashiers and this should solve your issue.

Press Control + Alt + S after entering security mode to set the security level on icons and menu items.

You can copy the security settings, but I suggest doing this from a Demo/Model database and not a store database.  You'll also need to ensure that each store is using the same security setting numbers in the Cashier database...

    1. Set up a model RMS SO database, based on your stores and apply the Security Configurations you desire.
    2. Connect to the database, with RMS SO Administrator and exec this query:  "SELECT     'INSERT INTO [Security]([FormName],[ClassName],[ControlType],[ControlName],[ControlIndex],[ReadDisableCode],[ChangeDisableCode],[ColumnTitle]) values ('+''''+FormName+''''+','+''''+ClassName+''''+','+''''+ControlType+''''+','+''''+ControlName+''''+','+''''+rtrim(cast(ControlIndex as char))+''''+','+''''+rtrim(cast(ReadDisableCode as char))+''''+','+''''+rtrim(cast(ChangeDisableCode as char)) +''''+','+''''+ColumnTitle+''''+')'FROM         Security"  (this will give You all the INSERT's that You will need for the rest of the stores)
    3. Go back to your RMS HQ Manager, and after doing all the Backup's needed, for all the RMS databases HQ and the stores, create a new Worksheet, type 51, containing the above query into the Worksheet lines.  You may need to make few 51's or more lines in the same worksheet.

Again, please backup EVERYTHING before you do this...
