Be aware that not all ISV support all their functionality on the web client.
Also you can only access one window at a time. Try it out to compare against the desktop client and see if your users will accept its limitations.
FYI: Customisations created with GP Power Tools to replace VBA will work on the web client.

Other than Web Client not supporting Integration Manager or VBA, it has all the same features as the desktop client.
The closest Dynamics GP has for SSO is through Dynamics GP Web Client, where you can tie the user's GP login to the user's Windows AD account they login to Web Client with.
Otherwise, the third party product mentioned would be about it.
