Hi guys,

I've been told that CRM2011 does not work in IE11.

Does it work in IE11 Compatibility Mode?

In about 1 month our IE will be updated to 11 and my tech guys would like to know if they need to manage another solution for us.

Let me know guys.

Cheers

    Hello Luc,

CRM 2011 works in IE11 Compatibility Mode, but there are more errors.

As far as I know most of the functionality works, but keep in mind that IE11 support can take a while for CRM 2011. As I recall correctly IE11 will be at soonest supported in H2 2014.

Best way to know if you're in for issues: upgrade a single machine and test it !

    Good luck,

Here they explain that support for the IE11 Compatibility Mode for CRM2011 will possibly come in Q3 2014:

    https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/123134.aspx

Another Support Engineer told me to test the following: Upgrade to IE11, then on the Emulation tab, change Document Mode to IE9.

    Is this a viable solution?

    Has anyone tested this?

We are not going to upgrade to CRM2013 so please do not advise us to do so.

We are looking for a CRM2011 solution.

If anyone could advise, please do.

Everyone, thank you for doing your best to answer my questions.

    Not satisfied yet though.

What I'm looking for is - has anyone tested the IE9 Document Mode or Compatibility Mode?

What are the errors that occur within IE11?

Am I wrong to expect Microsoft to bring forth such knowledge?

The feeling I am getting is that they want me to upgrade to CRM2013 even if is does not benefit us yet.

At least one person within Microsoft must have tested CRM2011 in IE11 and got a list out of it with things that can go wrong.

In my opinion, forcing an upgrade to CRM2013 like this is strange.

CRM software is meant to last 5+ years.

This is NOT a Microsoft Rant, just some positive feedback from an honest CRM-user.

I'm gonna do the testing myself I guess.

Gonna just upgrade to IE11 - then

Gonna try Comp Mode - then

Gonna try IE9 Doc Mode --- and everytime, write down all errors.

If I find anything --- I'll post it on the forum for the people still enjoying CRM2011.

    Cheers everyone.

    Hello Luc,

many thanks for your post and your honest feedback – it is very much appreciated. As also previously informed by my colleague Rajesh, Microsoft plans to add Internet Explorer 11 in compatibility mode as a supported web browser in the third quarter of calendar year 2014 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 support.microsoft.com/.../en-us .

When we document or state that a certain scenario is not supported, doesn't necessarily mean that this is not going to work; it means that this scenario wasn't (fully) tested and verified and if it fails, Microsoft Support would not be able to investigate it and request a fix for it. Therefore I am afraid that we don’t have information about the currently expected issues with IE 11 available. Thank your for your understanding.

Moving forward I will encourage you to send a product suggestion at  https://connect.microsoft.com/ and provide insight to the Microsoft development community about your scenario and the importance for you which might help prioritize the IE11 supportability for CRM2011. Thank you for your collaboration in advance.

We appreciate your work in testing this in the meantime and for reporting your experience.

Thank you for using Dynamics Communities CRM.

Please let us know if this helps.

    Hello,

I am working with CRM 2011, In one screen I have added iFram where content displaying different site.

That iFram content has some latest java scripts which supports IE=10 or above.

Now I am facing issue like, CRM 2011 all pages load in IE=8 Mode which force all iFrame to load in parent mode state, so my iFrame content not rendered correctly.

In Settings --> Administration --> System Settings --> Customization (tab) --> Document Mode:

Option Load pages in most recent version of internet Explorer is ticked.

Is there any other way that I can change default compatibility mode whole CRM pages or do I need to apply roll-up for latest browser compatibility.

    Thanks.
