Inventory dimension Location must be specified.

Dear AX Expert Team,

While i am creating purchase return order i am getting error "Inventory dimension Location must be specified."

What is the difference between Available physical and total Available.

    Hi,

    For the first error message: Please enter a location in your return order line details.

    For your second issue:

    - Available physical: the available quantity (not reserved) from the physical inventory

    - Total available: Total available quantity of an item

    The difference are reservations. Probably check for your warehouse 68 what reservations have been made.

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thank you for giving quick reply.

    We have consider total available means currently stock is available and available physical we have to consider no inventory in the warehouse .

    Is am correct ludwig.

    Hi,

    I would consider the qty that excludes the reservations in your case the 488 pcs unless you want to "steal" some stuff from your colleagues that made the reservation.

    Hi Goutam,

    When you select return order and Post the product receipt update line->pick. Make sure when you pick the stock. you should pick from same inventory dimensions or dimensions with available physical as per your line quantity.

    For your other doubt on available physical and total available refer Ludwig replies.

    Hello :)

    Total available includes all transaction being encountered for an item, even if it is not received/shipped from the stock.

    Physical is what you will find in the stock when you walk in the store for example.

    you might have 10 items in stock (physical), if you ordered 5 from this item then the Total is 15, when you receive the 5 then physical will be also 15.
