Worksheet style 101 - Sync Database.

Posted on by 295

On HQ, all my stores are marked with a Red Dot under VIEW > WORKSHEET STATUS, then "Show Store Status". According to the help file, this represents a serious issue when the store tries to upload info to HQ, but they don't explain how to fix this. My "Event Log" doesn't show any error. Is it the case to use the "Worksheet style 101 - Sync Store Database"? Also on the Help File they say that once the store is created from HQ, I can't use this worksheet. I'm afraid to use it and something happens to all my data (sales, inventory, journal, etc.)

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

 Daniel Mesquita.

    Hi Christopher,

Using Worksheet 51 is very dangerous if You are not familiar and very experianced with RMS, RMS database structure and SQL. Before using WS51, please contact your RMS Partner. And create a test environment if You want to try it first.

    Best, A.

Mabuhay! Hi! So if we wanted to update the store details is it the right way to run worskeet code 51 (sql command) instead of sync store database?  Thanks

Ok... so the whole problem was that I wasn't setting the Worksheet that I was having a problem as "Acknowledged". Some of the products that I was "modifying" were not in that particular store yet. Problem fixed. Thanks a lot. Now the problem is that some of my stores have a question mark on the folder. I don't have a problematic worksheet to that particular store and the HQ Client is running perfectly (with the Data Upload WS being generated and processed normally). Any clues? Thanks, DM

Hi Daniel - Don't issue WSs unless you know exactly how they function.. and don't issue a 101 unless directed by MS or your partners. The stores are marked with a red x under them because a worksheet failed. If they all have a red x, it is highly probable that the ws that failed is a common one and likely a simple mistake. One example of something that would fail would be as follows:

Create a new dept/cat> Create new items> Assign the new dept/cat to the items> Issue a ws250 for the new items, but never issue a ws to update the new dept and cat. So, when processed on the store side, it takes in all of those new items, but then gives a big "huh" when it comes to the new dept/cat assigned to the new ilc. Make sense?

You first steps would be to see what ws(s) failed on the stores. To do this in HQ, expand a store with the red x> make sure the red and pink flags are checked to present. The failed ws will present in the list. Mark down the ws number on a piece of scratch paper. Open the View> Worksheets> Input the ws number as noted> Properties> Did all of the stores that processed fail? What kind of a ws was it (style number)?

Please post back your reply - there are people on the msg boards that are here to help. There are times with your cases where you must weigh the case to determine the best course of action: MS, partner, boards. I use each in the following ways: MS when I know I have time to work with the unique hrs of support, need a quick reply, see it as a simple fix or a bug. I work with partners when I have the need for 3rd party, massive custom db work, need for sensitivity on case and scheduled time. I work with the boards when I have a not hot topic case, or feel that someone else will have had the same issue, or when the puzzle is just too good for people to pass on. :-) Basically I know I won't always get a speedy reply here, but I often get thoughtful insight, and sometimes that comes from the really big boys on this site (like Jeff and Tom). The forums are a support group, people are here to support you. Sorry for the delay in my response here - but I just signed back up after a yr away from the boards. Kind of got a little side tracked.

    Thanks, Jocelyn

Daniel,  if you are a multi-store enviroment using HQ, you should be working with your Microsoft partner on these issues.  If you need Professional services, you can contact us.
