Microsoft GP 2015 v.0661 Smart List recreation

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all,

We have successfully installed GP2015 from GP2010 with the knowledge of needing to recreate Smart Lists from previous version. Our main question is there not a merge? If not can someone explain with tables are required in the new Smart List Designer that will show current users and what batch they are currently in? There are issues when users are in a batch we are unable to print thru the batch for order processing.

Any and all help is appreciated.

SmartList Builder from eOne and SmartList from Microsoft each one has its own set of tables.

Check the tables SLBXXXXX in your GP 2015, they are from SmartList Builder and compare them against your old GP 2010, they both should have the same data.

You need to contact your Microsoft Partner, they will be able to request the registration keys for SLB for you.

Once you install SLB for GP 2015 you should be able to see the 'missing SmartLists'.

Yes, I have the old server still running for reference. I don't have the Smart List Builder on GP 2015 only Smart List Designer. The Smart List Designer is not compatible.

Do you still have your old GP2010 installed, if you do, you can export/import those one SmarLists using SmartList Builder.

Smart Lists created with SLB. No big deal to create a few that we still use, cleans out the closet per say...

When you say 'Custom SmartList', are you referring to SmartList Favorites or SmartLists created using SmartList Builder?

SmartList builder is no longer offer by Microsoft and needs to be installed separately:

Existing SmartLists and its Favorites during a GP upgrade are not removed, they still should be in your GP2015 tables.

Have you checked the security settings for the SmartList in question?

    Bill,

Thanks for the comment. Yes, this was an everyday check to see who was in a batch so that orders can be printed. I do of course have the old server still running and tried to match the verbage, since the Smart List reporter was pulled and Smart List designer was implemented I am unable to see the names of tables as in GP 2010 to GP 2015 wording are skewed.

Dave, are you saying that you are looking for a way to see who has a batch open?  And that you had this working in GP 2010?

If so, do you still  have a 'old' version running somewhere in test?  That might help.  But post back if that is not the case I am sure someone in the community will be able to assist.
