GP 18.4 to 18.7 Direct Upgrade

Hi,

Is it possible to directly upgrade from 18.4 to 18.7 instead of going though versions in between as we have 70+ companies to upgrade and going thru each version will be time consuming. We don’t use Manufacturing, Analytical Accounting, HR&Payroll, Field Service, SBA and GP Web Client. I understand that Microsoft tested upgrade path is to go thru each versions but just wanted to check if direct upgrade to 18.7(or to 18.6) has any issues that you are aware of when you did any upgrades.

Hello Jothi,

Thanks for the question on forums, it is exciting to see you upgrading to 18.7 that released October 2024.

Per the upgrade hot topic and Upgrade blog series, there is no supported upgrade from 18.4 to 18.7.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2024 Upgrade Blog Series Schedule

As an example of a supported (tested by Microsoft) upgrade path to 18.7 (October 2024 Release) or 2024 Year-End would be from GP 18.5.1556 (RTM) or later.

Hi Terry,

Thank you for your response. The upgrade paths table was little confusing. So does that mean I can go from 18.4 to 18.5 and then to 18.7 directly and can skip 18.6.

@Jothi Krishnan N I am dealing with the same confusion that you did. Did you end up finding out if you can go from 18.5 to 18.7 directly?
