Same resource requirement in a route operation

Hi all,

Is there anyway to indicate that a route operation needs to be performed by the same resource than another operation in the same route?

Let's say that for example a process starts in Machine 1 which belongs to Resource Group 1 (and my resource requirement is set to Resource Group 1). Then this machine gets available to be scheduled on another production order. However, another operation from my original production order that is executed later has the same requirement (Resource Group 1), how can I avoid to allocate Machine 2 (suppose that Machine 2 also belongs to Resourse Group 1) and necessarily allocate Machine 1 again?

Another question: is it possible to repeat the same operation id. in the same route? For explample, a "Cut" operation that could occur at different times in the same process.

Thanks in advance.

Ultimately it will schedule for the best process, so although you want it to reuse the "same" machine later you have given it the option to pick from a group, so it schedules.

You can have the second operation as "Cut" but you cannot change the time from the first "Cut" because of the route relations, therefore you structure it as "Cut1" and "Cut2" it is just a code, it is what you hang off it that is important.

If this is a question on the current version you could have logged it in the current version forum community.dynamics.com/.../765 This is AX which by definition is not the current version :-)

Thank you very much Steven for the information.

I forgot that I had read the news about the new forum.

Oh I struggle to remember it as well, and dont really use that version yet so no drive, it is just that we have a lot of "current version" tags, so the structure seems not to be working....yet :-)
