I need to run a report showing what inventory I had on the shelf on March 31 only. I can not figure out how to do this. Please help, the office is asking for this today.

Well its not pretty, but you can do it w/ a spreadsheet program if you are handy w/ functions.
I would first dump the current Item Quantity List report into an .csv file. Then create an Item Movement report for 3/31 to today, which also gets dumped into a .csv file.
The trick is to then take the difference between the current Quantity List and the Item Movement report. ie:
(5 widgets today) - (-3 movement since 3/31) = 8 widgets on 3/31
Unfortunately the Item Movement report only shows items that experienced movement in this period, so matching them up is a little tricky.
So... this is where the handy w/ spreasheet functions part comes in. You need to write a few simple functions to match each item on the movement report with its version on the quantity report. In OpenOffice I would do this using a Match function.
I hope this helps. There should really be a function built into RMS to do this. If anyone knows of an easier way please chime in.
Andrew,
Thanks for your help. I have talked to a guy that can build a custom report for $99. It should make everything really easy for me, since im not very computer savvy. His name is Ryan, he is with RITE "Retail Info Tech Ent.
