I am planning a server migration and upgrade for a client and the system that has been provisioned is Windows Server 2012 and I can't find any information as to the compatibility/support for Windows Server 2012 with Dynamics GP 2010 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2.  I can't locate any documentation on this

    Hi Michael,

As far as I know its not officially supported. I'm open to correction though!!

GP2010 and SQL 2008 R2 with SP 1 are fine together - but no mention of MS Server 2012.

    Ian.

    Thank you Ian.

So in follow up, will Dynamics GP 2010 R2 install and function on Windows Server 2012 - I would have to guess it would but I get that it is unsupported as yet.

GP 2010 is not supported yet with Server 2012. Development will begin testing on this in the near future but as of right now there is no time table.

I just saw a document on PartnerSource that says that GP2010 is compatible with Windows Server2012, but you must be on GP 2010 service pack 3.. Here's the link: mbs.microsoft.com/.../mdgp_windows8and2012compatibility.htm server 2012

For some reason, however, the "official" System Requirements for GP2010 on PartnerSource has not been updated yet with this information and lists Server 2008 but not 2012.

Can someone comment on whether or not it actually is compatible with 2012?

Yes it is supported. I am sure the person who updates those pages will make the change soon.

Thank you I saw an update recently that it was, we reached out to Microsoft and they implied that 11.00.2044 would be suported even if not officially so we went forward with this upgrade and migration and it has completed successfully.

Dynamics GP R2 flat i.e. version 1752 is not compatible with window 2012 server as per my test but i have installed version 1860 and 2197 and they are okay.

I was unable to get Dynamics GP2010 R2 with SP4 to install on a Windows 2012 R2 server.  Does my customer need to roll back to Windows 2012?

    Thanks - Joe Guyton

    Hi Joe,

GP 2010 is supported with Windows 2012 R2. Could you explain to us what you running into during the install?

The pre-requisites will not install on the server.  I'm installing from the Dynamics GP2010 with SP4 DVD.
