Hello experts,

Which version of Visual studio and SSDT is supported for SSRS report development for subjected server setup?

We are getting below error while opening design of report in Visual Studio 2010.

Visual Studio 2013 and Visual Studio 2015 are not supported by visual studio tools in Ax 2012 R2.

Please suggest. Thank you in advance.

    till AX2012 R3 you are supposed to use VS10

    as per your ax version which is R2-CU7 you can use VS 2010.

    also tools of same version should be used. VS tools can be installed by running ax setup

    follow next process.

    1) install VS 2010

    2) install VS 2010 SP1

    3) install VS Tools

    Hi Sohaib,

    Thank you for reply.

    We already have Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Version 10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel installed along with visual studio tools from Ax setup.

    Still its throwing error while opening designs of standard report objects.

    okay forget to mention that also please install BIDS from SQL Server 2008 R2 setup
